Download Microsoft SQL Compact Edition

Credenza uses the Microsoft SQL Compact Edition database to store all of your data. The Compact Edition is designed for easy installation and maintenance, and does not require any networking or database knowledge. SQL Compact Edition takes only a minute to install, and may in fact already be in use on your computer depending on other programs you may have installed.

If SQL Compact is not present when you install Credenza, it will automatically download and install it for you before proceeding with the Credenza installation. If for any reason you cancel out of the install part way through, it is possible that SQL Compact will not be properly installed. For this reason we've also provided the direct link to download/update the Microsoft SQL Compact on your computer.

Microsoft SQL Compact Edition cannot be installed if you do not yet have the Microsoft .NET .35 Framework.
